Overview

The National Underground Asset Register is a new government digital service which provides instant access to a map of the underground pipes and cables for authorised users in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Improving the efficiency and safety of the way we install, maintain, operate and repair our buried infrastructure by providing secure access to data from public and private sector asset owners.

This session will cover the history of NUAR and bring you up to date with use cases and provide guidance on obtaining access whether you are an Asset Owner or Supply Chain Contractor.

About the speakers

Marisa Hayes

NUAR Senior Account Manager, GeoPlace

Marisa joined GeoPlace in 2020 to champion and support the work of the Local Street Gazetteer Custodian – a position held in each Highway Authority in England and Wales and one which underpins the creation of the National Street Gazetteer.  

In 2023 Marisa joined the NUAR Team to help bring local authorities and utilities onboard this ground-breaking initiative.

 

Andy Gilbert

Adoption Lead - NUAR, Ordnance Survey

Andy Gilbert is a Senior Geospatial Consultant at Ordnance Survey,  working across data collection, quality assurance, and consultancy and partnering with customers to deliver practical solutions, support change, and lead delivery programmes.

Now, Andy focuses on NUAR adoption, working with Asset Owners and Supply Chain Contractors to share insight, transfer knowledge, and tailor learning to support successful onboarding.
